Software Research's TestWorks/Advisor, part of the fully integrated TestWorks suite of testing tools, improves productivity, resource management, quality and predictability by providing static source code analysis and measurement. It performs a more detailed analysis of source code than compilers, to detect trouble spots early in development. Seventeen metrics measure a program's data, logic and size complexity, aiding in decision making in an objective and quantitative manner. Test data/file generation makes up for limited resources and more fully tests applications by creating new tests from existing ones.

TestWorks/Coverage, a fully integrated, multi-platform suite of coverage testing tools, provides measurements to determine how well test cases exercise a program and identifies unexercised code through textual, tabular and graphical reports. It uses logical branch coverage (C1) for unit and system testing, function-call coverage (S1) for integration tests, and path class (Ct) for testing critical functions. TestWorks/Coverage can be used on all types of applications including character, GUI, Client/Server and embedded software. Using recursive descent compiler technology, TestWorks/Coverage is able to efficiently handle all standard constructs and dialects of C and C++.

The TestWorks/Regression product suite (CAPBAK, EXDIFF and SMARTS) significantly increases test speed and accuracy, improving cycle time and quality while allowing the re-use of tests on each release. TestWorks/Regression is ideal for host and client-server applications with automated load generation from a single workstation for multi-user client-server applications. A C-language interpreter allows all events and actions to be recorded as full C function procedures.
